One joke which stood out in today's broadcast of Ed Reardon: Ed is cadging a lift in a postal van; the postman is used to writer's ruses to save dosh, and talk gets round to the meanness of certain writers, including Dennis Potter:

Postman: He could peel an orange in his pocket.
Ed: Well, juice it, anyway.

One suspects the man who named his cancer Rupert would have found this amusing.
